As part of the Arab Fisheries Group strategy to develop the marine aquaculture industry in the Red Sea region, the company is actively seeking to develop a large-scale fish hatchery on the Saudi Arabian Coastline.
The project will be majority financed by the Arab Fisheries Group, but is also expected to receive additional funding from both private and governmental sources. The facility, already at the advanced design stage has already identified a number of potential sites and environmental benchmarking assessments are expected to commence in the spring of 2007.
The final project will not only seek to create a marine fish hatchery, but also to become a centre of excellance for the development of Marine aquaculture throughout the Arab world. By creating such a facility, it is the aim of the Arab Fisheries Group to ensure that any interested party can approach the company with a view towards accessing a variety of technical information and support. It is also hoped that as the reputation of the facility grows, institutional investors will use the facility as a means of ensuring new developments have access to the very latest technologies, information and seed stock.
